New drink, everyone!
I had a fabulous night out last night. It started by me having the Friday evening whiskey at work, continued with a whiskey sour and an old fashioned at the Firehouse with Laura, Andy, Uri, Shira and their friend Dan, and jumped through time and space finishing at a birthday party for someone that Dan and Uri work with.
It was at the party that the drink was born. Dan was complaining that people were making fun of him for drinking a shot of Kahlua. I think he was drinking it for the kitsch value, and his frustration lay in the fact that no one else would acknowledge it. To prove his point, he followed it with a can of Bud Light. At this point Andy suggested that maybe there was a drink to had at the intersection of the two, a black and tan of sorts. We all had a good laugh, and drunkenly I turned to Dan and said,"If you make it, I'll drink it."
Well, the gloves came off and pretty soon a glass of striated, kitschy disgustingness was placed in my hand. It really only tasted like slightly sweet Bud Light, because the Kahlua was hovering ominously at the bottom, yet to be tasted.
It seemed like an event, an event that needed immortalizing, so I asked, "What should we call this?"
A moment's silence resulted in Laura boldly proclaiming, "A Light Russian!"
Marry me, Laura.
YES! Yes! I will marry you! But I am not sure I can give you a baby.

Then we'll just get a cat. We'll name him Bundt.
